Title: "Theoretical Studies of Hollow-Core Optical Fiber Gas Lasers"

Abstract: Hollow-core optical fiber gas lasers (HOFGLAS) are optically-pumped, molecular gas lasers that operate inside the hollow-core of a microstructure fiber (also known as photonic-crystal fiber or holey fiber) and lase in the mid-infrared. The operation and physical processes occurring in the fiber are described using theory and modeled numerically for pulsed and continuous wave configurations. The numerical results are shown to correspond with experimental data and are used to estimate heating and discuss future capabilities.
