Admissions

The UNT Department of Physics offers Master's and Doctoral degree programs.

Minimum requirements

Application Dates

Review of applications for Fall semesters has begun on February 15th. A recent influx in federal funding augmented our strong staffing base level. This results in a higher number of paid graduate student opportunities that we want to fill with the best available applicants. We therefore extended our deadline and accept applications as late as April 30th this year. All accepted Ph.D. applicants are offered a teaching-assistant or research-assistant position with tuition covered.

The physics graduate program is designed for students to begin in Fall. However, Spring admission may be granted on a case by case basis with review of applications beginning October 15th.
