To be eligible for consideration, an applicant must possess the following characteristics:

  1. Meet the minimum entrance and continuing academic performance standards of the Department of Physics in effect at the time of any award;
  2. Maintain full time enrollment at the University, unless they have fewer than twice the number of semester hours required to be full-time remaining in their degree program;
  3. Be enrolled as a full-time graduate student in physics at the University, with a primary interest and major in nuclear physics, atomic physics, or subjects related to nuclear medicine or nuclear pharmacology; and
  4. Satisfactorily passed physics Ph.D. qualifying examinations.

Teller Bayer Scholarship

The Teller-Bayer Scholarship in Laser Physics was established in 1986 by Joe Bayer and Conrad Huebner to provide scholarship support for outstanding graduate students who are working toward a Ph.D. in physics with a concentration in the area of laser physics at the University.

To be eligible for consideration, an applicant for the Scholarship must meet the following criteria:

  1. Meet the minimum entrance and continuing academic performance standards of the Department of Physics in effect at the time of any award;
  2. Maintain full-time enrollment as established by the University, unless the student is nearing completion of their degree program and does not need full-time enrollment; and
  3. Enroll as a full-time graduate student working toward a Ph.D. in physics with a concentration in the area of laser physics at the University.

L.L. Miller Scholarship

The L.L. Miller Scholarship was established in 1988 to support physics majors in the Department of Physics at UNT.
