In this talk, I will provide broad research review at Sandia National Laboratories. My research on photonic crystal, phononic crystal and their applications in waveguide, phononic barrier communication will be presented. Especially I will introduce a large scale FEM simulation software MIRaGE that we have developed and now widely used by universities and companies.
